Second  Congress of the Engineering Institution of Macedonia

The Engineering Institution of Macedonia (EIM) was established in 1946 as a professional, non government, unprofitable organization of engineers which unites all the unions and associations of engineering as their basic activity.
The  Second Congress of Engineers in Macedonia, organized by the Engineering Institution of Macedonia, will take place  in Ohrid on 7th – 8th  June 2006.
Its  patron is   Mr Branko Crvenkovski,  President of Macedonia.

The motto of the Congress is
MACEDONIA > ENGENEERING > EUROPE Macedonia is on its way towards Europe. Entering the European Union is a long and complex process which consists two levels. At present, the country finalizes the first level which involves formal and political qualification of the state and its public system. Nevertheless, the actual entrance into the European Union will follow after solving the problems from the second level which comprises dynamical economic development, investments, modern technologies, high quality products, intensive research and well educated personnel, i.e. - ENGINEERING. The main areas of interest for the Congress are: European Engineering Education Highly qualified engineering personnel and creation of engineering youth in Macedonia compatible with the European standards, is one of the major prerequisites for successful integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the European Union. Therefore the Engineering Institution of Macedonia dedicates an entire theme to the engineering education. Energy and Sustainable Development The second thematic area of the Congress implies Energy as an eternal problem, present throughout all engineering fields. Plenary papers will be presented by invited experts from the European Union, the region and the country. Every participant can actively participate in the panel discussions. Brief presentations from all participants are also welcomed. Official languages of the Congress are English and Macedonian. The proceedings of the Congress will be published in a special issue of the “Engineering” magazine.
